Not gonna lie, I love watching films, especially the ones that keep me inspired about minimalism. So today, I would like to share my favorite list of movies about minimalism, or related to it. And also, please share your list as well.

Castaway On The Moon (2009)

Got dumped by his girlfriend, got a huge debt and had no meaning in life, this man decided to end his life by jumping off a bridge. Unfortunately, he did not die but was cast away to a small island in the central of Seoul. Then he changed his mind and stayed on that island without any money or credit cards. Somehow, he even found the happiness and true love.

This is a comedy, romantic movie. Safe and relaxing to watch with your family.

Cast Away (2000)

Chuck Nolland, is a man who works for FedEx. He was cast away to an island in Pacific Ocean due to an airplane crash. In 4 years, he sharpened up his survival skills, makes a lot of efforts to return to the United States to be with the woman he loves.

Safe to watch with family.

Up In The Air (2009)

Ryan, a downsizing expert who flies all across America to fire people. He's pretty famous with his well-known theory: the empty backpack. He always travels light, has no extra stuff and even tries to cut down on relationships. Everything changes after he met Alex and Natalie.

One of my favorite quotes comes from this movie: "Moving is living". Best movie for all who always have to be on an airplane, especially for who loves to travel efficiency.

Not safe to watch with family. There are some hot scenes and swear words.

The Martian (2015)

Mark Watney, an astronaut who has been left on Mars. With only what's left, he must find a way to survive, grow the food and make contact with Earth.

What I love about this movie is that it's not a trying-so-hard-to-look-smart movie. The science stuff in this movie is believable and makes sense.

And just like Mark, who counts everyday to return to Earth, me, I am also counting days to visit my family in my home country.

There are some bad words but I still think that this move is safe to watch with family.

Into The Wild (2007)

Based on a true story, a young man throws away all of his properties to be on the road heading to Alaska without saying goodbye to his family. He finally touched his dream but it was a sad ending.

Safe to watch with family though there are some bad words in it.

Wild (2014)

If you love Into The Wild, then you should also check out Wild (2014) as well. It's about a a recently divorced woman, decides to start a new life by hiking along the 1,100 mile-long Pacific Crest Trail. This is absolutely one of the best films of Reese Witherspoon.

This a not-for-kid movie I think. There are some hot scenes and bad words in it.

The Way (2010)

An American father travels to France to retrieve the body of his son, who died while attempting the pilgrimage to Spain's Santiago de Compostela. He resolves to take the journey himself, in an effort to understand both himself and his son.

This movie always makes my tears run down a bit at the end of it.

Safe to watch with family.

The Terminal (2004)

Victor Navorsky flies to New York to fullfill his passed-away father's wish. Unfortunately, he gets stranded at the airport because his home-country government had been pulled down due to a war rages while he was on the flight. He is forced to stay within the airport until his original identity is recovered and confirmed. Somehow, he manages to survive the airport terminal and even falls in love with a beautiful flight attendant.

I love to watch this movie everytime I am on a flight.

Safe and fun to watch with family.

Fight Club (1999)

My best favorite quotes come from this move: "Things you own end up owning you", and "We buy things we don't need with money we don't have to impress people we don't like". And you can find yourself a lot more wise quotes from it.

This movie is not for everyone I think. Because it might be hard to understand at the first time of watching, and it also has many layers of meaning underneath. Anyway, so far, this is no doubt at the first place of my list.

Not safe to watch with family (hot scenes, violent scenes and a lot of bad words).
